About me

IMG_2121Welcome and thanks for stopping by.

I’m Kristina (also known as Krissy, Kris and KB).

I’m 32 years old and a sister, aunty, godmother, friend, lawyer, self confessed control freak and most recently, breast cancer survivor.  I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 1 February 2016, three days before world cancer day and two weeks after the settlement of my first house.  What a roller coaster.

When I started writing this blog, all I knew was that I wanted to share my story and my journey in the hope that it raised awareness that breast cancer does not discriminate depending on age, health, marital status or anything else.  As the months of my treatment continued to pass, writing became a bit therapeutic for me and also allowed me to communicate with friends and family and pass on  useful tips and insights which I though might help other women, particularly young women.

2016 was most certainly a challenging year.  Treatment is tough.  What I am finding now though is that treatment is only the beginning of the cancer journey.  What comes next is equally as difficult, if not more so.  I’m now adapting to a new normal and learning to live my life post cancer.

Feel free to leave comments or get in touch by emailing me at kristinabotsis@hotmail.com.

Big love, Krissy xx

PS – if you’re wondering about my choice of photographs, the photograph of the beach is a beautiful beach on the island of Lefkada, Greece.  I love to travel and the ocean has always been so calming for me, so it felt fitting.  The photo of me is taken on Christmas day 2014.  A happy time.

    Hi Krissy,
I’m a friend of Madge’s and I remember meeting you at her Hen’s and Wedding. I’m so sorry to hear your news and I think your blog is incredibly inspiring. I’m walking the 60km walk to End Women’s Cancer in April for the Harry Perkins institute, Just wanted to say my thoughts will be with you all the way! Good luck and all the best.
